Hey all! Sorry its been kinda a crazy. Week! President Goodman should have been here by now but they blocked off all of the roads again so we've just been waiting. We had to cancel lunch plans and rearrange everything but we're very excited to receive him. Me and Elder Kahl have talked to him on the phone to give him the Bienvenida, he speaks really well for an American and he asked us if we remembered English at all because to him we sounded like native speakers!
But let me back up to let you all know what happened last week.

Last Monday we just shopped around for typical stuff all day. It was really cool! We got our machete's and we ordered our machete sheaths so that was fun! Everyone was looking at us weird but honestly it's not uncommon at all to see people carrying swords around everywhere. But to see two tall white Americans with protruding Machetes wrapped in Toilet paper out of a back pack is a rare sight to see.

We planned to clean the back yard next Monday. We finished up the last changes with President Ruiz and he keeled in prayer with us. In the prayer he just gave thanks for all of the opportunities he had had being the Mission President. I can honestly say that I am really going to miss President Ruiz. I've learned so much from him and thanks to him I can say my love, and testimony of the Savior have grown immensely. It has been incredible to see how revelation is real and how if we are worthy we can constantly have it with us. I'm so grateful for such a great example of a firm disciple of Jesus Christ as Presidente Ruiz.
Martes: We had all the arrival of the new missionaries. We received like 6 but 17 missionaries are going home so we are going to have to close like 6 areas... Its pretty rough but we're going to push though it and accomplish even more that we did in May! The new missionaries were pretty excited. We did something new this time. We had all of the Trainers and the Old Missionaries there to receive them when they got off the bus. Then while we were training them the Old Missionaries went to the temple. And before they got back we had already sent all of the missionaries with their trainers to their new areas. It was really a great change because coming out of the CCM all you want to do is go and teach. So now they were able to do it the very same day they ge to the field. Later that night we had a delicious dinner with those that were to return home the next day. Then we had the testimony meeting. We can already feel the loss of so many great leaders of the mission. We'll miss them dearly. but we know The Lord has other plans for them and for us! Then President brought us out for lunch for Elder Kahl's birthday that passed.

Wednesday. It was changes we got everything sorted out while President interviewed those that were returning home. We sent everyone out on the buses, then we sent the group off. Then we had the visit of Elder Alonzo of the 70. He had the final interview with President Ruiz and wished us luck on the month of July. We hope to reach our goal of 300. We've been preparing for months now. And this will be our groups last shot to do it.

Thursday we started the farewells here in Las Palmas. Before that though we had a surprise visit from the Heiner Family. A missionary that served here 2 years ago. His brother had just finished in the Central Mission and they had come to say hi to everyone. They're a great family. We had Reu, Las Palmas, Mazate, Lincoln, Flores and San Felipe come. We took photos and listened to last words of Presidente and Hermana Ruiz. This meeting me and my companion couldn't listen to much of what they had to say because we were running around preparing everything for after the meeting. Meanwhile Elder Hill sat in the meeting to make sure everything was according to plans. By the way.... Elder Hill was recognized as the new assistant to the President so now their is 3 of us! The plan is that when President Goodman leaves to a Zone, one of us can go with him while the others stay to defend the area. I love Elder Hill! He's such a great kid! President let all of our group that is going home on August 3 put our handprint on his Manta while the rest of the mission just signed it. It was really wake up call for me that time is really running out! We've got to be working so hard to aprovechar the time we have in the mission as full time missionaries! I love the mission so much!

Friday, we did the same meeting in Malacatan with the rest of the Zones. Every Zone presented something. The best acts I saw were the Zone San Felipe staring Elder Cruz on the Ukulele singing to the tune of Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Zone Tecun also did a great song to our mission hymn ''AVENCER'' or Carry on. Then on the way home we stopped for lunch for Elder Perez's birthday which was that day.

Saturday, we had our last meeting with Presidente Ruiz and we made all of the preparations for the arrival of President Goodman. I started a special fast to find a family to teach and that night we were contacting and we found a pretty solid family!
Sunday, It was my birthday! Whoot whoot! 20! I'm not a teenager anymore. Haha that's a crazy thought! We went to church and we finally found Victor again! He got a new job and was leaving right as we got to his house so it was a miracle we found him! But he's going to come to church next week! Then after church we went to a members house for lunch, Elizet and Herber. They're such a great family. They have a little boy age 4ish. He's at that age where he asks and asks questions all day long! They brought me a little piece of cake which was really nice of them! I felt so happy! We then went to the office and typed out some more documents and got everything finalized for the schedule of President Goodman! Then we left to do ''Interviews'' in Las Palmas around 8, I went with Elder Perez, my companion and Elder Gutierrez had a surprise in the Zone Leaders house. They bought some cake and a piñata. It was super nice of them! My companion is the best! I also got the video from my family! Thanks you all! Thanks for all of the Birthday Wishes! It's one that I will remember for the rest of my life!

Monday. We didn't have a p'day because we took the car's to get their final check up. They got all fixed up in Mazate and we cleaned the backyard in the morning. It was great! Then we went with President to get to know all the place he goes to show the new mission president where the trust worthy providers are. Then we had a cita and a meeting. Elder Hill and Elder Kahl went with President while me and Elder Perez went back with the family. However they weren't home so we contacted some other family. However, the guy only wanted to contend.
