Tuesday we had our Interviews with President Goodman here in Reu. They seem to go really well. I shared a small message about change and how we have the opportunity to change to be the Missionaries that The Lord wants us to be. It went really well. Then the rest of that day we were running around to help get the travel arrangements set.
Wednesday, we went to San Felipe. We got a notice that they were going to block the bridge at 8 so we rushed to get over the bridge in time and by 7:45 we crossed. There were already a ton of police standing their with riot shields and all of their gear. I went with President and Hermana Goodman. While the others stayed here in Reu. I shared the same message and then we came back to Reu and I had to run and do some errands with Elder Hill and Elder Perez.
But in San Felipe I had one of the biggest miracles pass of my whole mission. Back in November, you may not remember but in Barrio Dalmacia (an area we covered but didn't work in for lack of missionaries and time) A man named Carlos came to church. I felt the strong impression to talk to him and challenge him to be baptized. I did and we had an interview and he accepted to be baptized the next week! He expressed his desire to change his life and told me he could feel that the church was true! The only thing was he was just living with some members and that the his sister or someone was sick and he was worried he would have to return to his home before his baptism. The very next day we went to look for him and they told us he had received a call and needed to go home because his Hermana was really sick. So he left. The number he gave us didn't work and we thought we had forever lost contact with him.
However walking down the street with Elder Elggren in San Felipe I heard a voice say in English ''GOD BLESS YOU MY BROTHER'' I turned around because i recognized the raspy deep voice and was surprised to see CARLOS!!! I gave him a big hug and he told me, ''I'm a Mormon! The first thing I did when I got back to Gutiapas was get baptized!'' It was such a miracle!
Thursday me and Elder Hill went to Malacatan to do some interviews for some investigators! it was a really good day! Then we went to San Pablo to help with all of asuntos for the wedding of a family that got baptized this week. Hermana Mary made us dinner which was really nice.
Friday, we tried to get back to Reu early to get to work in our area, but after passing one road block and 4 hours of driving and only going and hour in distance we ran into another road block making it impossible to return home to Reu. So we spent the day with The ZL's of Coatepeque and we helped them put some more baptismal dates. Friday night me and Elder Hill went with Maria and she promised us she would pray to know if she should be baptized on the 30th and told us she that her husband who lives in the states wasn't very supportive of her decision so if you could all pray that he softens his heart that would be great! However, she did tell us she would be coming to church with us.
Saturday we went to a prove the house of Brillantes and we did some errands in the morning while waited for Elder Perez and Elder Kahl to get back from the Mountains on a bus! Man it was a long ride. Then we went to visit Maria and another investigator named Mario.
Sunday was great! We did divisions with our new Ward Missionaries and we went and brought Jose, a recent convert, to church. Maria came with her 3 kids and her nephew! They all loved the church! Then we had our correlation meeting and our meeting with President Goodman that night!
Life is great! I Love being a missionary! hope that all is well! They days are going faster every day!
Love you all!
