Mission PACKING LIST (from other mothers)

·       Church email: www.myldsmail.net 

·       Also copy of driving record from state motor vehicle dept.

·       Leave written authorization that we can access your medical, educational records while on your mission. Power of attorney and use notary.

·       All male citizens required to register with the selective service when they turn 18. If haven’t yet done so, register online at sss.gov/RegVer/wfRegistration.aspx or at a US Post Office. If questions, phone number in packet.

·       Check off list online – Mormon.org, Book of Mormon, etc.

·       Mark name on all clothing, luggage, etc.

·       Open 2 Debit card accounts. Joint.

·       Read instructions about mailing in packet so you know how to mail home.

·       Notify insurance company he is leaving country

·       Set up e-mail account and contacts.

·       Defer scholarships and BYU admission

·       Give Mom copy of all accounts to track and passwords

·       Set up Skype account

·       (Check into mailing bedding to mission office?)

·       BRING TO MTC:

·       Completed immunizations form.

·       Signed Passport. Drivers license.

·       Current temple recommend

·       Scriptures in native language.

·       4-generation pedigree chart with name of first line and few stories about ancestors (preach my gospel page 164)

·       Journal

·       Patriarchal Blessing

·       Pictures of family and friends in the plastic sleeves

·       Pens, pencils, notebook, highlighters, for notes and writing letters, envelopes, stamps

·       Drypack!  Shoulder Bag.

·       Camera. Wi-Fi

·       Personal supplies: shaving, toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, mouthwash, shampoo, deodorant, hand lotion, combs, shoe polishing supplies

·       Clothes hangers?

·       Cash

·       May bring: in native language True to the Faith, Jesus the Christ, Our Heritage, Our Search for Happiness

·       Belts 1-2

·       Bedding:  2 twin size flat sheets, 2 pillowcases . Dark colored keep fleas away.  (NOTE:  Fitted sheets work great in Guatemala – take fitted too)

·       Small first-aid kit.

o   Sunscreen (gel recommended) at least 30 spf

o   Lip balm 30% spf

o   One non aerosol containter of mosquito repellent with 25-35% deet checked.
